Norma B Woolman, 87 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise of Wilmington Memory Care facility where she resided for 15 months. Norma is survived by her husband Joseph R Woolman, Jr., her son, Joseph R Woolman, lll and her daughter, Kimberly Ann Woolman Passero, and her grandsons, Dillon Passero and Tyler Passero. Norma is predeceased by her father, Charles Buchanan and her mother, Lillian Buchanan and her two sisters, and three brothers
Norma was born May 9th 1940 in Wilmington DE. She graduated from the AI DuPont high school. Norma then graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. She worked at the Wilmington General Hospital, the DuPont Stein Laboratory, and as Director of Marketing at The Resettlers Inc. Norma’s largest interest was her children and her husband. She attended all her son’s sporting events traveling to many different schools. Norma also supported her daughter’s horse activities getting up early in the morning to prepare to transport the horse to and attend all the various races and shows.
Norma had many interest and talents. She enjoyed flower arranging and volunteered at the Wilmington Flower Market for many years.
She was also a talented seamstress and made and knitted many pieces of clothing for the family and drapes and other items for the house.
Norma was also a superb cook. She took many cooking classes and made outstanding dishes and bakery items. She made all the food for many parties which the guest raved about.
Norma’s favorite place to be was to be at their beach house in Middlesex Beach and to be on the beach looking at the ocean.
Norma was cremated and there will be a private water burial at the Indian River Inlet.
A memorial service is planned for the future. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations being made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
