Clark Tree started our storm cleanup on Monday, March 9, finishing on Tuesday March 17. This was mostly focused on the largest debris on MBA property (generally, but not always, swale to swale). They also took away any debris that Members had put by the roadside. In general, according to Delaware law, if a neighbor’s tree falls on your property, it’s yours; there is an exception if you’ve notified the lot owner that you’re concerned that a tree of theirs is in bad shape and they should have it checked or removed. Usually we don’t go on individual Member properties to collect debris, but for this storm only we made an exception for some large trunks and branches that fell across streets and onto individual properties.
Clark Tree will be returning (April 6, 7, 13, 15, ….) before the May 18 Bulk Yard Waste Pickup to remove several trunks and stumps that are in the drainage swales, remove several dead and hanging branches from along community property, and also remove a few trees that are leaning dangerously. The Utility poles along both sides of pineside streets are good indicators of the extent of community property, but MBA also has an easement that allows us to maintain swales on individual lots, so there are a few places where we’ll go a bit beyond the utility poles. If you see a tree with an orange X on it, that means it’s scheduled for removal. If you see a tree with a prominent yellow splotch, that means it has branches that need to be removed. If you see a yellow splotch on the asphalt, that means there’s stump to be ground up or otherwise removed.
