MBA Updates – July 27

I’d like to take this opportunity to provide an update following our recent July 21, 2018 Board Meeting.

As you may be aware, we have been discussing the paving of Dune Road for several years (for more information, see our blog post and email blast from June 2018). Over the past few weeks, several community members have voiced their concerns around various aspects of the project. While a number of Dune Road residents have expressed concern over the impact of the paving project on their property, some have even asserted a right to ownership over MBA community property and threatened to sue should Dune Road be widened. The Board will meet with representatives from Dune Road and of the broader community at large in the coming weeks to seek an amicable solution to the issues.

In the meantime, the status of the project is and continues to be on hold. We, as your Board, have continued our commitment to work with and for the community as a whole.

On a separate topic, MBA members and our Community Patrol have noted numerous examples of vehicles failing to stop at the intersection of Dune Road and Bridge Road at the Guard House. In one case a CP member was almost struck by a car that failed to stop. Please abide by all of our community traffic signs and be aware of the heavy pedestrian presence on Dune Road and at the aforementioned intersection. Please also remind renters of their obligation to follow our traffic rules.

As a reminder, information regarding volunteer opportunities can be found on our website. The Board and Committee Chairs look forward to receiving your requests to join their respective committees.
