For most of the first two weeks the replenishment project was on the beach, little to no progress was made. That has now changed dramatically. With two dredges operating, with no issues, the dredging company has completed pumping sand to the northern Bethany Beach Town limits and the beach will be opened from Third Street north.
This means they will now pump south from Third Street and will be closing the beach between Third Street to a spot between Campbell Place and Central Boulevard. The project will be in the middle of Garfield Parkway by Sunday. At that point, pumping will be moved to the Wellington Parkway area. Then it will proceed north to Garfield Parkway before moving back to Wellington Parkway and proceeding towards Middlesex Beach’s southern border.
